Charityworks– I was a mentor for three years and remain a supporter for this amazing programme that gives extraordinary graduates their first start in the charity sector via placements, mentoring, training and assignments. I’ve also done Governance training for the entire Charityworks cohort.
UpRising– I was a mentor for two years, (including for a social action project) and have remained a supporter of this programme which helps young people from deprived areas to achieve their leadership potential. Here is a comment from me on their website.
I have done a lot of work supporting organisations that focus on young people- youth empowerment and youth leadership. I am a fan of Dare2Lead and have helped with training for them in the past. I have also been an Advisor for and a supporter of London Young Charity Professionals.
I have also done a lot of work supporting smaller charities, including during my time as the Chief Executive of the Small Charities Coalition. My biggest piece of advice for small charities (in the UK) is here.
